What is STRESS ?

              When a body is subjected external force, then an internal resisting force induced in body, this internal resisting force per unit area is known as stress.

Generally it is denoted by  Greek Alphabet σ (Sigma).

                                                                                      A = Area of Cross - Section

Unit of Stress :-

   Since, Unit of Force is Newton (N)

              Unit of Area is m²

Thus, Unit of Stress is Pascal.
